If your floor was treated with an old-based product during installation or after being restored, we recommend that you continue to use oil-based. There's no specific timeframe for re-oiling your floor, but once a year is a good standard, or when you notice that the floor appears scratched or is getting dirty very easily.
Your floor should not need any sanding; simply clean your floor with a quality soap and water (we can advise on suitable products), and allow the floor to dry naturally.
Rub a thin layer of fresh oil-based product into the panels (following the direction of the drain/panels) and wipe dry; you may also use a buffing machine if you want a richer shine. Drying takes around 6 hours to be touch-dry, and 7-10 days to fully cure, so we recommend minimising contact with the floor where possible, and avoid getting the floor wet.
If your floor dries sticky, try lightly cleaning with soapy water and a buffing pad, or call our helpful team
for advice.
